Dr. Orhan Kizilkaya is a Research Scientist at CAMD and collaborates with us in his "spare" time. IC Senevirathne does photoemission and STM studies at CAMD. Weichang Zhao is currently working on growing GMR spin filters grown on GaAs to test out a spin-injector for magnetoelectronics applications. Former Postdoctoral Scholars Hua Jin is now doing a postdoc at Northwestern University. Xingyu Gao is now on the staff of the Singapore Synchrotron Light Source which is part of the National University of Singapore. photo. Gary J. Mankey An expert on magnetic thin-films. Surface Science Graduate Alumni Gallery of Photos Alice Acatrinei (Ph.D., LSU 2003) is now doing a postdoc with Jacob Urquidi at New Mexico State University and she is doing much of her work at Los Alamos National Laboratory. Hari Donthi (M.S., LSU) is now working for CheckFree -- it's a software firm specializing in electronic commerce and financial services. Anura Goonwardene (Ph.D., LSU 1999) is now an Assistant Professor in the Geology and Physics Department of Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania. His office phone is (570) 893-2079. Jeevananda Karunamuni (aka Raju) (Ph.D., LSU 1999) has been hired from his postdoc position at the University of South Carolina and now works in New Jersey growing multilayer thin films for interference filters. (?) Orhan Kizilkaya (Ph.D., LSU 2003) is a beamline scientist at CAMD. Alexey Koveshnikov (Ph.D., LSU 2002) is currently a postdoctoral fellow at Simon Fraser University in the Department of Physics. Reginaldt Madjoe (Ph.D., LSU 2001) has returned to South Africa where he is lecturing at The University of the Western Cape. He can be contacted at rmadjoe@uwc.ac.za. John (Zhe) Qu (Ph.D., LSU 1995) is now a Staff Software Design Engineer at KLA-Tencor Instruments a company that manufactures semicondictor inspection and measurement equipment. KLA-Tencor is listed on the S&P 500. Krishnan Subramanian (Ph.D., LSU 1998) is now a Senior Process Development Engineer at Seagate Technologies Inc., and works on characterizing new magnetic sensors for computer disk drives. Jonathan Toups (B.S., LSU 2003) is now a graduate student in physics with his bud Roger Wendell at The University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Dr. Peter Virnau (M.S., LSU) completed his Ph.D. at the University of Mainz with his thesis entitled "Phase behavior and nucleation of polymer solutions: A Monte Carlo investigation".
